Touring New Cities Safely

When was the last time you traveled to a foreign place? About a year ago, I started thinking about different ways to enjoy new cities without the fear of being attacked or robbed, so I began focusing more and more on learning what I needed to before I headed out. It was really interesting to see how much of a difference it made to do a little reading before I boarded a plane, and I have to be honest, some travel tips have saved me more than once. I wanted to make an easy-to-read website about touring new cities safely, so I made this blog.

Essential Sites To See In The Holy Land

Visiting the Holy Land can be an exciting spiritual and cultural experience regardless of your religious affiliation. However, since there is so much to see here, you may be unsure which sites to focus on. Here are some top sites you absolutely need to see on your visit to the Holy Land.

The Jesus Trail

This trail runs from Nazareth to Capernum and is supposed to follow the footsteps of Christ. It is actually set up for hikers, so you can easily navigate the terrain. It's about 10 miles long, so you need to be in decent shape to complete it, but if you're not feeling up to the whole 10 miles, you could definitely just walk a smaller segment to get the experience.

St. George's Monastery

One of the most stunning monasteries on the planet, this complex hangs off the edge of a cliff. It is a monastery of the Eastern and Greek Orthodox Churches. Monks still inhabit the monastery, and you will learn a bit about them and their work if you take a tour. You'll have to walk across a pedestrian bridge to reach the main building.

Mount of Beatitudes

This is the place where Jesus is said to have given his famous Sermon on the Mount. It overlooks the sea of Galilee for a stunning view. If you feel like sitting down and having a picnic lunch, this is the perfect spot to do it.

St. Peter's Church

This church is located in Tel Aviv and is known for its beautiful architecture. The stained glass windows are truly stunning. There are daily masses that are open to the public and conducted in five languages.

Beersheba

As the capital of southern Israel, this city dates back to the days of Abraham and has a very rich cultural history. You could spend an entire afternoon walking around and just admiring the old buildings. There are markets and art displays throughout the town, along with numerous museums you can step into for a few minutes apiece.

If fitting all of these sites into your trip seems like a struggle, consider booking a Holy Land travel tour. Most will include all or most of these sites, along with transportation along the way. Embarking on a Holy Land tour is also a good way to share the experience with others. You never know who you will meet and who will become a new friend. Contact an agency, like YYY TOURS, to get started.
